In spite of reports of their departure, Carlo Ancelotti wants two Real Madrid midfield players to stay with the team as the summer transfer market draws near. The head coach of Real Madrid has made a choice involving Toni Kroos and Luka Modric, two of the team’s icons.
The Italian coach is said to rely on both central midfielders, according to The Athletic. Their contracts are due to expire in June, and he wants the club to renew them. The way Kroos and Modric have performed this season has delighted Ancelotti. He also thinks highly of the influence they offer the younger players at the club. Their behaviour and mentality serve as a model for all other Real Madrid players.
In order to have his contract with the team extended, Modric is reportedly even open to taking a pay cut and a substitute role. Modric has played in forty-three games this season, tallying eight assists and two goals. Kroos has played in 46 games with 1 goal and 9 assists.
Carlo Ancelotti also wants Real Madrid’s captain Nacho to stay despite exit rumours
According to reports, Real Madrid manager Carlo Ancelotti begged Nacho, the team’s captain, not to go through with his plan to depart at the conclusion of the season. But he told the team early in the season that he would let his contract expire in order to pursue a new challenge, therefore his 23-year playing career with Los Blancos came to an end.
