Arjen Robben has issued a stark warning to Bayern Munich ahead of their Champions League quarter-final second leg against Real Madrid, insisting the Spanish giants can strike at any moment.
Robben Warns Bayern Munich About Real Madrid’s Comeback Threat
The former winger, who played for both clubs, believes Bayern deserve credit for their 2-1 first-leg advantage but refuses to write off the visitors.
“For me, Bayern were the better side,” Robben said, reflecting on the match at the Santiago Bernabeu.
“The scoreline probably flattered Madrid a bit.”
Despite Bayern’s dominance, Robben knows from experience how quickly Real can turn a tie around. He urged the German champions to stay alert for every single minute.
“Real Madrid can score out of nowhere,” Robben warned.
“Even when you think you’re cruising at 2-0, they find a way back. A match never truly ends with them. They prove that time and again.”
The Dutchman advised Bayern to avoid overthinking the occasion. He wants them to trust their usual approach rather than making panicked changes.
“Bayern don’t need to change their tactics. Their game plan has worked all season,” he said.
“They need defensive solidity and attacking as a unit. Play with passion and conviction, not fear.”
Robben praised Bayern’s mental strength, noting that experienced players keep the squad calm under pressure. “This team doesn’t get scared or stressed in big matches,” he added.
He also showed deep respect for Madrid’s history. “They have won the most Champions League titles. They always sign the biggest stars,” Robben said.
“But Bayern are the better team right now. They have match-winners too.”
When asked for a winner, Robben did not hesitate. “Bayern! They are consistent and running like clockwork. An unstoppable force,” he concluded.
The Allianz Arena awaits a tense decider, with Robben’s warning echoing loudly: never underestimate Real Madrid’s ability to strike back.
