Marco Asensio of Real Madrid has a contract that expires in Spain at the end of the current campaign, and a number of Premier League teams, including both North London clubs, have been linked to the winger
Asensio, who has spent the last seven years with Los Blancos, may depart Madrid in the summer to begin a new era of his career with a group that he can have a greater impact on.
The 27-year-old Spain international has a contract offer on the table, but because he isn’t a regular starter for Real Madrid, he will probably wait as long as he can before accepting it to see if anyone else is interested in his services.
Football Insider claims that Tottenham is keeping an eye on Asensio’s position in Madrid, adding that the Spanish star is also being followed by Man United and Arsenal in the Premier League.
There is room for Asensio in the Tottenham team because Lucas Moura’s contract expires in the summer and it is unclear whether the North London club will maintain on loan star Arnaut Danjuma.
Although there is still a long way to go before any team manages to sign the Real Madrid star, the 27-year-old would be a terrific addition to the other two English juggernauts as well.
