Greek club PAOK wants to sign Real Madrid youngster Reinier Jesus

In recent years, Reinier Jesus has been one of Real Madrid’s most disappointing acquisitions. Believing they were acquiring the next big thing in South American football, Flamengo paid €30 million to the Spanish capital giants in 2020 for the Brazilian midfielder.

Juni Calafat pushed the agreement, acting aggressively ahead of other European heavyweights in an uncommon approach. But the results have been a glaring letdown. Five years later, even though his contract with Real Madrid is still valid until June 2026, Reinier, who has never played a minute for the first team, is on the verge of ending it.

Reinier and Atletico Mineiro have, in fact, completed a complete personal terms deal, according to SPORT. In fact, the Brazilian team and the 23-year-old have reached an agreement over his pay and the length of his contract, which is set to run for four and a half years, ending on December 31, 2029. The two clubs still need to come to an agreement, which is the second stage of the process.

Reinier has reached a full agreement with Atletico Mineiro

Madrid quickly came to the conclusion that players who had joined a club permanently rather than on loan were far more likely to be given opportunities. Since then, they have frequently favored selling their young players while including first-right-of-refusal and reasonably priced buy-back rights in their agreements. In recent years, Madrid’s youth have had to search for opportunities abroad, but that may soon need to change.

Even if the club and the Brazilian’s camp are set to hold negotiations this month, the Brazilian’s future does not seem any clearer now than it was a year ago, especially since he is currently practicing with the reserves.

According to those close to him, he wants to return to his own country right now. Flamengo and Atletico Mineiro are both interested, with the latter being in the greatest position to sign him.

If Reinier returned to Brazil without playing for Madrid as a senior, it would be a sad way to finish his time at the Bernabeu. Unfortunately for him, things have been this way for some time.
