Lyon president Jean Michael Aulas has welcomed the possibility of a return for Karim Benzema.
The Lyon president was in charge when a young Benzema rose through the ranks at Lyon and was priced away by Real Madrid.
Now he has welcomed the opportunity for a return for the veteran forward to Lyon.
Benzema has been phenomenal for Madrid all his career and has taken up the pace a notch higher by becoming their main man in the post CR7 era.
Benzema has a deal at the Bernabeu till 2022 and Aulas is hoping that Juninho can help him bring over the forward, as his confidants have expressed that Karim wants to play for Lyon once before retirement.
Aulas told RMC: “I know that there were contacts last year with Juni (Juninho, the sporting director, former Benzema teammate in Lyon).
“So far, I haven’t had word with Karim. This being the case, if it were possible, obviously solutions would be found which would make it possible to do so.
“It would be a dream for all of our supporters. He shouldn’t come too late. Why not? It all depends, I think, on the results in Madrid.”
