Brahim Diaz

Frustration grows as relationship with Coach Ancelotti strains

Brahim Diaz’s return to Real Madrid this summer hasn’t been the warm reception he had hoped for. The Spanish midfielder, who spent an effective season on loan at AC Milan in 2022-23, is presumably becoming more frustrated with his lack of playing time at the Bernabeu.

Brahim Diaz appeared in 124 games for AC Milan, getting a reputation as an important player. However, since his return to Real Madrid, he has struggled to find playing minutes. Under Carlo Ancelotti, the 24-year-old has started just one game this season, making eight appearances off the bench.

Brahim’s playing time recently reached a new low when he got a two-minute cameo in a 1-1 draw against Sevilla. The situation appears to be weighing on the player, and according to sources, he might leave in the near future.

Brahim Diaz’s difficult relationship with Carlo Ancelotti appears to be a big reason. While Ancelotti’s contract is set to end next summer, the young Spaniard may not have to wait that long to depart, with the January transfer window potentially providing a solution.

It’s a defeat for a guy who began his career at Malaga, then moved on to Manchester City before returning to Real Madrid. Brahim’s future at the Bernabeu is questionable with only three goals and three assists in 30 appearances.
