Karim Benzema will not be available for El Clasico on Sunday.

Coach Carlo Ancelotti has confirmed that Benzema missed the training due to a calf problem and will be unavailable in the El Clasico clash.

The manager said: “We’re not going to risk it. He can’t play tomorrow, he hasn’t trained. He has discomfort and can’t train or play.

“I’m not worried about Benzema. He’s 34 so he has suffered small problems this season but he has always returned stronger. He will recover next week and he will be ready for the most important part of the season.”

Ancelotti has already decided who will play in absence of Benzema in this crucial game on Sunday.

“Who will play tomorrow in Benzema’s place? I have already decided it but I won’t tell you,” Ancelotti told reporters during his pre-match press conference.

“Bale is one of the options but we also have Mariano, Jovic, Rodrygo, Isco… I have chosen the best option for this game. We can win without Karim Benzema, yes. He’s important for us because he scores. Now we have to find someone else.”
