Casemiro - Title Race Not Over Just Yet

Real Madrid have still not given up on a proper title race this season.

The Glacticos beat Huesca 2-1 on Saturday to move within 7 points of leaders, Atletico Madrid.

Casemiro said, “There are still 51 points to play for and that means there’s a lot of games still to come. We have to take it one game at a time and focus on Getafe now. There’s still a long way to go but I still believe.”

He continued: “I’m delighted with the win and well done to the squad because this was a very tough match, with so many players missing.”

“We controlled the game and played really well in the first half. In the first 10 or 15 minutes of the second half they pressed us, created chances and scored a great goal. But we fought back. First with Benzema’s free-kick that Varane headed in. Then we kept pressing for the winner.”

Atletico Madrid are set to play Celta Vigo on Monday after which they will still have a game advantage. Diego Simeone’s men seemingly are running away with the title but there is still a good number of games to be played.

Real keep dropping in and out of form this season. Without any new additions, Zinedine Zidane’s job is under threat as their struggles continue.
