Oldest player in Real Madrid

In response to rumours that Los Blancos could want to repatriate him, former Castilla midfielder Chema Andres has stated that he would be delighted to return to Real Madrid. Since joining Stuttgart last summer, Andres has been a regular and has made an impression.

Stuttgart only paid €3 for Andres, and Los Blancos have a repurchase clause of €13 million this summer and €16 million the next year. There was speculation that Real Madrid will elect to bring him back after his impressive early-season play and the team’s midfield problems. Indeed, those reports have stopped in 2026.

Andres stated in an interview with The Athletic that he was making every effort to disregard rumours that he would be moving to the Santiago Bernabeu. “The club has to make that decision. I would love to go back to Madrid, but I’m not concerned about it at the moment. I’m having a great time in Stuttgart. I’ve informed my agency that I’m not interested in learning more about it. We’ll discuss our alternatives when the time comes.

Real Madrid midfield targets this summer

The midfielder acknowledged that Real Madrid is the best team in the world and that joining them is the hardest thing to do. Everything is determined by this reality: the world’s top want to participate, and they typically do. It establishes a very high standard for the academy, producing a very different environment from Barcelona, where team dynamics and budgetary limitations have a greater effect.

Though he admits he still has a lot to show and that the club has the upper hand, the possibility of eventually returning to the Spanish powerhouses is unavoidable. “Real Madrid will determine that. I wouldn’t mind going back, but I’m not thinking about it at the moment. I have informed my agency that I am not interested in hearing about it. We’ll sit down and consider our alternatives when the time is appropriate.”

His need for a high-level setting that provided real advancement was the driving force for his choice to join Stuttgart. “The athletic endeavour matched my goals of becoming a professional football player and gaining the necessary playing time. The manager sold it to me after we chatted. He made it extremely evident that he genuinely wanted me there and believed in my abilities.
