Courage Helped Us Win Three Points Against Elche - Benzema

Real Madrid managed to squeeze past Elche on Sunday afternoon to keep the title-battle alive.

Karim Benzema scored both goals for his team, equalizing first with a header and then shooting a winner late into injury time from the edge of the box.

“It’s the work of the whole team,” Benzema said post-game in comments. “It wasn’t an easy game, against a well-organised team at the back. The teams that come here sit deep and make things difficult for us, but with courage, we pushed forward and won three important points.”

He added, “Every time we enter the head, we know that we have to give more to get to the first place. The first half was a little weird, because we didn’t have much movement. In the second half, with more enthusiasm, we scored the goals ”.

Benzema carried out a smart one-two with Rodrygo before netting his second. He continued, “It is important that the players who come in from the bench contribute things and that is what they have done”

“It’s a beautiful goal, worth three points. Happier than ever”.

Real Madrid now sit 6 points behind Atletico Madrid and a point above Barcelona, who are set to face Huesca next.
