Dominick Szoboszlai Wants Real Madrid Move

Dominik Szoboszlai’s long-term future at Anfield has become a topic of intense debate after his national team coach revealed that playing for Real Madrid remains the Hungarian’s childhood dream.

“I Love Anfield, But…”: Szoboszlai Opens Door to Future Transfer

Marco Rossi, who manages the Hungary national side, dropped the revelation amid a season where the Liverpool midfielder continues to impress.

Since his £60 million move from RB Leipzig in 2023, Szoboszlai has established himself as a key figure under manager Arne Slot.

He played an integral role in Liverpool’s Premier League title win last season and remains one of the squad’s most consistent performers.

Rossi did not hold back in his assessment of the 23-year-old. He described Szoboszlai as one of the best players in Europe right now, noting his significant development on Merseyside.

However, it was the comment regarding the player’s personal ambitions that caught the attention of the football world.

“From what I know, and because of the very good relationship I have with him, Real Madrid was his dream,” Rossi stated.

“Ever since he started playing football, he has had one dream, which is to play for Real Madrid.”

The timing of these remarks puts Liverpool in a difficult position. While the club holds all the cards contractually—Szoboszlai signed a five-year deal that runs until 2028—the lure of the Spanish giants is a challenge no club takes lightly.

Despite the speculation, the player himself appears grounded. When asked recently about extending his stay on Merseyside, Szoboszlai expressed happiness at the club.

“I like the city, I like the club, I like playing with these guys, I love Anfield, I love the fans,” he said.

He did, however, leave the door open, admitting that while talks are not progressing yet, “if the right offer comes then let’s see.”

Rossi acknowledges that a move is far from certain. He pointed out that Liverpool are “one of the biggest clubs in the world” and that Szoboszlai holds a high value within the squad. Ultimately, the decision will rest with the player and the club.

For now, Liverpool remains focused on building their future around the Hungarian star.

But with Real Madrid lingering in the background, the coming transfer windows could prove decisive.
