There is a very good likelihood that Emerson Royal, a defender for Tottenham Hotspur, will leave the North London club this summer, according to Emerson Zulu, his agent

Although Royal had established himself on the right side of Tottenham’s 3-4-3 formation, Pedro Porro’s January transfer to the team from Sporting CP has made it difficult for Royal to play. In the midst of the present club crisis, Spurs are also experiencing unrest, particularly in light of the circumstances surrounding the resignation of sporting director Fabio Paratici, who took place after Antonio Conte departed the organisation.

The dismal 6-1 loss to fellow top-four contenders Newcastle United officially eliminated Tottenham from contention for a spot in the Champions League for the upcoming season. Tottenham’s off-field issues appear to have caught up with them.

The pursuit of the North Londoners by Aston Villa, Brighton & Hove Albion, and Liverpool may make it difficult for them to maintain their Europa League spot. The recent troubles of Tottenham have caused some players to ponder their long-term plans, and Royal’s recent lack of playing time has pushed him even closer to the exit.

After returning from a loan with Real Betis, where he made 79 appearances and contributed five goals and ten assists, Royal joined Tottenham from Barcelona in the summer of 2021. With only three appearances for the Catalan giants, the Brazilian was unable to establish himself, but his agency believes he has what it takes to play for Madrid, the Spanish champions.

Throughout all competitions this season, the 24-year-old has made 32 appearances and has contributed two goals and an assist. It is uncertain whether the club would approve a transfer this summer, although major overhaul is expected in the wake of a disappointing campaign.
