Gonzalo Higuain opens up on his footballing career.
The former Real Madrid man spent six years at the club between 2007 and 2013.
He scored 121 goals in 264 games for Los Blancos in that spell and took over his career after his move to Napoli where he equalled the Serie A record for most goals in a season.
“I was 19 when I met Roberto Carlos and he welcomed me with love and humility. He, Ronaldo, [David] Beckham, Raul, [Ruud] van Nistelrooy, [Iker] Casillas, [Ivan] Helguera, [Fabio] Cannavaro, all of them treated us youngsters with affection and incredible modesty and I could go on naming names,” Higuain said.
“The truth is that if I look back and think about all the players I’ve been able to play with, I get goosebumps.
“And I’m still not tired of playing. Ronaldinho I faced, with Roberto Carlos I played with, with [Paulo] Dybala I played with, even with [Weston] McKennie I was a teammate, sharing even just a few days at Juventus.”
