Gareth Bale’s return to Tottenham Hotspur has not gone according to plan.
After helping Real Madrid to four Champions League crowns, the Welshman fell apart with Zinedine Zidane.
His future at Santiago Bernabeu was pretty much over which was why his exit was sanctioned so quickly last summer. Jose Mourinho brought him in to add strength to his attack but did not see the expected results.
Bale has struggled to establish himself back at North London, a place where he made his name as a superstar. His agent, Jonathan Barnett said, “He’s towards the end of his career. You’ll have to ask (Jose) Mourinho that (why he is not playing more).
“When they say what’s happened to him, he’s won more trophies abroad than any player in British history. He’s done very well financially, he has money for the rest of his life.”
Is that the best way to advertise your client? The jury’s is definitely still out on that one. Gareth Bale, if anything should be looking to reignite his career somewhere. His contract with Real Madrid lasts until June 2022. If not Tottenham, he could definitely move somewhere and make a real impact.
