James Rodriguez understands he is not wanted at Real Madrid anymore.
The Galacticos’ fourth-highest player transfer was on the Everton man, who left Real last summer on a free transfer.
While his initial days in London showed plenty of promise, the Colombian has found some speed bumps along the way recently. Carlo Ancelotti was eager to reintegrate the playmaker back into his line up.
But with a different level of output needed in the Premier League, it has not been a seamless marriage between two parties. A fan urged him to return to the capital when he made an appearance on common gaming platform, Twitch.
“It is not in my plans, to be honest,” he said. “Who knows what could happen in two, three or four years because anything can happen in football, but I don’t think so. At the moment no.”
When pushed about Madrid, he later went on to add, “No one wants me there. It is part of football.”
In an interview with Marca Claro, Rodriguez was asked whether he was unhappy with life in England. The Colombian replied after Everton’s 2-0 win over Liverpool, “I am happy. We all know it is a new stage for me.
“At almost 30 years old, I am fine. I am happy for every new thing that is added to my life. It all adds up. It was tough [against Liverpool]. Everyone knows that Liverpool is a great team. I think they are in the top three teams of those who play good football.
“I’m happy to have helped my team win. Everton haven’t won [at Anfield] since 1999, so we’ve made history. I’m happy I was there. I hope we can continue this well.”
