Jose Mourinho Trying To Lure Ramos To Tottenham

Tottenham Hotspur are closely monitoring Sergio Ramos’ situation in Madrid.

The Spaniard’s contract extension has not been finalised yet and the January transfer window is only two days away.

Into the final year of his deal, Ramos will be free to discuss pre-contractual terms with other outfits from Friday. That means Jose Mourinho could swoop in and offer him a mega deal.

Real’s hesitation to meet the 34-year-old’s demands has allowed other clubs to creep in. Of course, Ramos is still a highly-rated defender capable of leading a side through wins. He has shown no signs of slowing down and Tottenham’s defence would greatly benefit with him there.

Mourinho wants to make defensive reinforcements this January and Ramos looks like a brilliant option. If he fails to lure the Los Blancos skipper, he will have to turn his attention to Inter’s Milan Skriniar.

Real Madrid are still in talks with Ramos’ agent but they should not have allowed the situation to drag on. He is clearly an influential member of the squad and their captain. Zinedine Zidane still rates him highly and wants to continue with him leading the side. Without any immediate replacements around, Real cannot afford to lose him.
