Juventus Could Land Marcelo On A Free

Marcelo will not be handed a new contract, as per recent reports.

Real Madrid have decided against extending the Brazilian’s stay with one more season still left in his contract.

Florentino Perez is overseeing a complete clearout of the Old Madrid Guard. Plenty of names have left the Bernabeu in the past two transfer windows. However, there is still plenty of deadwood that needs clearing out before Los Blancos can invest heavily. Large contracts are weighing down future transfer plans at the back of a very poor financial year.

All clubs are affected across the globe and even the mighty Real Madrid are feeling the strains. Perez’s plans of adding Kylian Mbappe or Erling Haaland next will draw up a big financial commitment.

Marcelo is wanted at Juventus by Andrea Pirlo. The Old Lady only have Alex Sandro in the position and the manager wants more options. Marcelo is still capable of playing at the highest level. The 32-year-old has fallen behind the pecking order at Madrid and would not mind playing more elsewhere.

He will also look forward to reuniting with his old friend, Cristiano Ronaldo in Turin. Both of them shared a prolific partnership down the right flank at Madrid. Perhaps they could rekindle that same magic at Juve.
