This summer, Karim Benzema is expected to leave Real Madrid

The French attacker reportedly made the decision to quit Los Blancos after 14 incredibly successful years in favour of a move to Saudi Arabian club Al-Ittihad Club, according to numerous sources, including this one from The Athletic.

The Saudi-club is thought to have made Benzema, 35, a very generous offer. Leading transfer expert and columnist for CaughtOffside Fabrizio Romano claims that the Ballon d’Or winner has received offers of about €100 million each season.

Benzema, who will say goodbye to his Real Madrid colleagues and join his new club in time for the upcoming season, naturally jumped at the chance to join Cristiano Ronaldo in Saudi Arabia’s ambitious league as one of the highest-paid athletes in sports history.

Real Madrid’s productive number nine will end a really spectacular 14 years at the Santiago Bernabeu, marking the end of an era.

His 353 goals during his stay in Madrid helped Los Blancos win 24 significant trophies, including four La Liga championships and five Champions Leagues.
