Karim Benzema, Real Madrid’s captain, achieved another milestone after his team won the 2022 FIFA Club World Cup

After staying behind in Madrid to finish his injury recovery, the Frenchman made a last-minute dash to Morocco to join the Los Blancos team.

In Rabat, Carlo Ancelotti swiftly reinstated his talisman to the starting lineup, and the seasoned attacker displayed his unfailing class in the 5-3 victory over Al Hilal. Carlo Ancelotti made a suggestion that his star striker would re-join the team if his fitness improved back in Madrid and he received permission to travel.

Vinicius Junior’s first goal was assisted by Benzema, and then the Brazilian returned the favour for Benzema’s first goal in almost two weeks.

With the victory in Morocco, Benzema won his 24th major trophy for Real Madrid, passing Paco Gento to become the club’s second-most successful player in history.

The only person ahead of him (25), a former teammate named Marcelo, is in the last stretch of the season, and with Real Madrid battling on three fronts, he will be confident of equal or surpassing the Brazilian.
