Real Madrid icon Luis Figo has boldly predicted his former club will secure a 3-1 victory over Barcelona in the upcoming El Clásico.

The Portuguese legend, who famously played for both Spanish giants, credits Real Madrid’s home turf and potent attack as the decisive factors.
Figo expressed his full confidence in the team managed by Xabi Alonso. “I would say that Real Madrid will win 3-1,” Figo stated.
“I give them the edge because they are playing at home. And this result, well, so that it will be a spectacular game with goals.”
The former Ballon d’Or winner further explained that the squad’s added motivation from Barcelona’s dominance last season will fuel their performance. However, he also noted the unpredictable nature of the historic fixture.
“It will be motivation for Real Madrid if they focus only on what happened last season,” Figo said.
“But I really believe that you start from scratch every new season… A Clásico is unpredictable.”
Reflecting on legendary players who could have suited either side, Figo named several icons.
He suggested Zinedine Zidane would have fit well at Barcelona, while Barcelona stalwarts like Sergio Ramos, Carles Puyol, or even Pep Guardiola could have excelled at Real Madrid.
“I think all the players at Barça and Real Madrid could fit in at the rival club because they are always great players,” he shared.
Figo also admitted that Zidane’s successful transition into management surprised him most among his former teammates, citing the Frenchman’s different personalities as a player and a coach.
Having represented both clubs during their centenary years, Figo holds fond memories of each.
