Atalanta striker Luis Muriel has sounded a warning shot to Real Madrid.
The Italian outfit who made it to the semi finals of the tournament last season, are known for their free-flowing attack.
Muriel’s team are coming off a convincing win against a tough Napoli team from the weekend. He has now turned his focus to beating Madrid.
“It was very important that we win today and the victory could be crucial in the race for the Champions League places, it also gives us a big boost for Wednesday’s game with Real Madrid,” Muriel told Sky Italia.
“We’ve got it into our heads that we want a run of victories in Serie A to make up for dropping points earlier in the season, so we gave our all.
“If we can play with this balance, this attacking verve, creating this many chances, then we can make life very difficult for Real Madrid.
“We want to make the most of this unique opportunity and prove that we are up to the task.”
Real are on a decent run themselves but have looked nowhere near as comfortable or dominant as their squad should.
Zidane will also know, a knockout at this stage would only cause more harm to his chances of staying the manager at Real Madrid.
