El Clasico Date

As El Clasico draws near, Real Madrid and Barcelona are both anxiously awaiting the return of some of their best players. Los Blancos’ problems are centred on their backline, where they have been plagued by injuries since the previous campaign.

Xabi Alonso’s depth at centre-back has been reduced by Antonio Rudiger’s December injury and David Alaba’s ongoing recovery. Dani Carvajal and Trent Alexander-Arnold are both recovering quickly from muscle problems in order to play against Barcelona, while Ferland Mendy has only recently resumed training after missing six months. Dean Huijsen is the most recent to experience problems.

Even though a trip to Getafe this weekend might be too soon, there was assurance that the Spain defender, who departed the international camp last week due to muscular soreness, would return in time for Los Blancos’ match against Juventus the following week.

The most recent information from Diario AS, however, indicates that there is no longer total assurance that Huijsen will arrive on schedule. The team would no longer risk their necks, but they still think he will be ready for the Clasico.

Real Madrid face Dean Huijsen injury concern

Huijsen’s injury was predicted to keep him out of action for 12 to 15 days, with a comeback anticipated right before the match against Barcelona. He will not play in the forthcoming league match against Getafe, nevertheless, because his rehabilitation has been slower than anticipated.

Medical professionals continue to exercise caution because soleus injuries are known to be difficult and recurrent. The defender may be set back weeks by any error, making Real Madrid’s already overworked defence even more difficult.

The loss of Huijsen exacerbates Madrid’s broader injury issues. Militao is only getting back from a lengthy ACL layoff, and club captain Carvajal and Alexander-Arnold are both recuperating from muscular problems. While Trent continues light training but isn’t quite match-fit, Carvajal, who strained his thigh in the Metropolitano, is anticipated to return around the same time as Huijsen.

Federico Valverde is expected to step in as a makeshift right-back if both are unable to play in the Clasico. He has performed admirably in this area thus far this season, offering both offensive width and defensive consistency.
