Real Madrid Secure Andriy Lunin with New Four-Year Contract
Real Madrid and Andriy Lunin have reached an agreement on a new four-year contract, putting to rest months of speculation surrounding the Real Madrid’s goalkeeper future.
Lunin, who had been linked with a potential exit due to concerns over limited playing time, has now committed his future to Los Blancos until 2028.
The 25-year-old Ukrainian international had previously expressed a desire for more first-team opportunities, with his contract set to expire next summer.
❗️Confirmed, Real Madrid and Andriy Lunin have reached an agreement on a new deal valid until June 2028. Current deal was due to expire in June 2025 but after staying at the club this summer, Lunin will sign a new deal.

During the offseason, there were whispers of an impending departure, particularly after Real Madrid secured Kepa Arrizabalaga on loan.
But Lunin’s decision to sign the new deal shows a change in heart, indicating his readiness to fight for his place at the club.
Despite Thibaut Courtois being the undisputed number one, Lunin’s solid performances when called upon last season, including in key Champions League and La Liga fixtures, were enough for the club to place their trust in him.
Real Madrid’s commitment to securing the Ukrainian for the long term highlights their belief in his potential, even if regular starts may remain hard to come by.
The club’s move also prevents the risk of losing Lunin for free in 2025, ensuring they hold on to a quality backup option in case Courtois faces injury or a dip in form.
For Lunin, it’s a chance to prove himself at one of the world’s biggest clubs, with his future likely to be reevaluated based on his performances and any interest from other teams down the line.
