According to reports, during the summer transfer window, Real Madrid is interested in signing Rodri, a 29-year-old Spanish international from Manchester City. The Spanish publication Fichajes said that Real Madrid is interested in Rodri. By acquiring a midfield player during the summer transfer window, the Merengues hope to bolster their first-team roster. Los Blancos have therefore made the 29-year-old Manchester City mainstay their aim.
In the summer transfer window, the Spanish powerhouses are prepared to go all out to sign the Spaniard. A proposal of €115 million will soon be made by Real Madrid to acquire the Ballon d’Or-winning midfielder from Manchester City in the upcoming weeks.
Two more years are left on the 2024 Ballon d’Or winner’s City contract. In April, news broke that Florentino Perez, the president of Real Madrid, had rekindled his interest in Rodri. Toni Kroos needs to be replaced at Real Madrid, and the team’s new manager, Xabi Alonso, is particularly interested in acquiring a midfield player who can set the pace.
A Spanish source claims that Fichajes Madrid is willing to go to extreme measures in order to acquire Rodri as their newest big-name acquisition.
Rodri has spoken to Real Madrid star about joining the club
According to reports, Perez is arranging a spectacular player-plus-cash deal with Rodrygo and Eduardo Camavinga in addition to an additional €40 million (£35 million or $47 million) to persuade City to sell. The Spain player is reportedly Madrid’s main priority to bolster the midfield, and they are prepared to part with Rodrygo and Camavinga in order to complete the deal.
Madrid hopes to take advantage of the fact that Rodrygo and Camavinga are highly regarded by City manager Pep Guardiola. Rodrygo is more likely than the other player to leave Madrid this summer. While Alonso has authorized his sale, he has become dissatisfied with playing second fiddle to players like Vinicius Junior and Kylian Mbappe.
Madrid believes that acquiring a top-tier midfield player like Rodri would give them the best chance to reclaim their dominance in both Spanish and European football after losing out on the La Liga and Champions League titles the previous season.
