Real Madrid are eyeing a move for AC Milan full-back Davide Calabria

Calabria is having a good season at San Siro, with a string of outstanding performances on the left side of AC Milan’s defence. On all fronts, the 25-year-old has two goals and three assists in 31 games for the Italian giants this season.

In Serie A, the skilled full-back has been a reliable performer down the right side, averaging 2.3 tackles, 1.0 interceptions, 1.1 clearances, 1.5 shots, and 0.8 crucial passes per 90 minutes. He has also disseminated the ball quite efficiently, having completed 76.2 percent of his attempted passes in league games.

Calabria is a good ball defender who can time his challenges effectively to get the ball back within his half. He normally puts his foot through the ball when needed and may chip in by scoring and producing the odd goal on occasion.

The Italian superstar is ready to hit his peak and would be a suitable off-season target for Real Madrid. However, the Spanish club should only pursue him if they intend to use him frequently in top-flight football. Otherwise, they risk halting the player’s progression, which will be detrimental to the Madrid club in the long term.

Calabria, 25, is a rising star who could help the Madrid giants compete for many major trophies in the future. As a result, Ancelotti would be prudent to bring him to Madrid ahead of the new season.
