Real Madrid’s first acquisition seems to be finalized, despite the fact that the summer transfer window of 2026 is still months away. In fact, Nico Paz from Como 1907 is expected to join Los Blancos, bringing the La Fabrica alumnus back to the team two years after leaving Valdebebas.

As it happens, though, MARCA claims that Real Madrid took Nico Paz’s return to the team seriously in 2025, the year Xabi Alonso took over as manager.

However, the club chose to be patient. In actuality, Los Blancos have never lost sight of his advancement. With arrangements in place for the Argentine to return home, the relocation to Italy was always perceived as a loan disguised as a sale.

Even though it was contemplated last summer, Real Madrid decided against making the move. It was acknowledged that the player required genuine consistency rather than intermittent appearances and that his comeback would not ensure adequate minutes.

The buy-back clause was worth €8 million at that moment, but after great deliberation, it was decided to keep him with Como for an additional year.

Real Madrid keen to re-sign academy product Nico Paz

The Argentine playmaker is reportedly nearing the end of his time in Italy and is expected to return home in the summer.

According to a source on Thursday, the young player will work hard and give it his all at Como over the next six months, not only to support his team’s pursuit of European football but also to keep Real Madrid happy with his remarkable development.

Paz is eager to go to Spain because playing in the prestigious league would keep him in the headlines and enable him to achieve his goals. Paz hopes to solidify his position in the Argentine national team and strive for a spot in the squad for the forthcoming World Cup.

Given the team’s obvious need for a midfield creative this season, Real Madrid is well aware of the potential they have on hand and wants Nico to return and finish his development at the Santiago Bernabeu.

Manchester United’s interest in Paz further strengthened Madrid’s determination. Como also tried to keep Paz, but was unable to make a serious offer due to terms in the loan agreement.
