Real Madrid manager Carlo Ancelotti has extended heartfelt congratulations to FC Barcelona following their triumphant 2024–25 La Liga campaign, acknowledging that the Catalan side fully deserved their title win.

“Ancelotti Congratulates Barcelona: ‘They Played Beautiful Football and Deserved La Liga'”

Barcelona clinched their 28th league title on May 15 with a 2–0 victory over Espanyol, courtesy of goals from rising stars Lamine Yamal and Fermin Lopez.

Under the guidance of new coach Hansi Flick, the team also secured the Copa del Rey and the Spanish Super Cup, marking a remarkable domestic treble in Flick’s inaugural season at the helm.

Speaking at a press conference, Ancelotti praised Barcelona’s consistency and style of play throughout the season.

“Barça did very well, and they deserve to be congratulated,” he said.

“They were more consistent in La Liga and played some very beautiful football. They deserved to win this league.”

Despite Real Madrid’s efforts, the team faced challenges, including a series of defeats to Barcelona across all competitions.

Ancelotti acknowledged the difficulties faced during the season, noting injuries and other adversities. “This is part of football; sometimes you can’t get the best out of everyone,” he remarked.

Looking ahead, Ancelotti is set to depart Real Madrid to assume the role of Brazil’s national team manager. His successor at the Bernabéu is expected to be former Real Madrid midfielder Xabi Alonso.

As the season concludes, Ancelotti’s gracious acknowledgment of Barcelona’s achievements underscores the respect between the two clubs and sets the stage for renewed competition in the upcoming season.
