David Alaba and Aurelien Tchouameni of Real Madrid will miss the following two games due to injuries

Just before Los Blancos’ journey to Saudi Arabia for matches against Valencia and Barcelona in the Spanish Super Cup, the pair both had muscular injuries. Before sending them back to Madrid, the club had disclosed the severity of their ailments, but it did not provide a timeline for their recovery.

Without Tchouameni and Alaba, who were in Saudi Arabia, Carlo Ancelotti’s team had to settle for a 1-1 draw after extra time before defeating Valencia on penalties.

They were defeated by Barcelona in the championship match, however, as Xavi’s team won 3-1 to win the Supercopa de Espana for the first time since 2018.

When the defending La Liga champions visit La Ceramica to play Villarreal in the Copa del Rey on Thursday, Tchouameni and Alaba will once again be absent. The news is disappointing for Ancelotti’s team, which is under pressure to improve after losing to Barcelona in the Super Cup final and behind that team by three points in the league.

Los Blancos have appeared wobbly at the back without Tchouameni shielding the defence. In Alaba’s absence, Antonio Rudiger was used, although he has had trouble picking up the tempo. While Tchouameni has only missed one game this season when he was available, Alaba has started the last 14 league games in a row.
