Real Madrid is considering a shock season-long loan bid for Manchester United midfielder Kobbie Mainoo, who has become frustrated with his limited playing time under manager Ruben Amorim.

Real Madrid Weighs Loan Move for Manchester United’s Kobbie Mainoo

The 20-year-old England international, who emerged as a key player for both club and country last season, has been an unused substitute in United’s first two Premier League matches this campaign.

Amorim has publicly stated that Mainoo is in direct competition with captain Bruno Fernandes for minutes, a situation that offers little immediate hope for regular first-team action.

This lack of opportunities has led Mainoo to become open to a departure from Old Trafford. While several Premier League clubs are monitoring the situation, Mainoo is understood to prefer a move abroad.

A transfer to Real Madrid would allow him to link up with international teammates Jude Bellingham and Trent Alexander-Arnold and provide Champions League football.

However, Manchester United currently views a loan exit as unlikely.

The club is not actively looking to sell the academy graduate, who has two years remaining on his contract plus an option for a further year, and they are already light on options in central midfield.

With the transfer window set to close soon, this potential move remains fluid.

Atletico Madrid is also reportedly interested, but the allure of the Bernabeu could make Real Madrid the preferred destination should United’s stance change.
