Real Madrid keeping eye on River Plate starlet Julián Álvarez

Real Madrid are keen to take River Plate striker Julian Alvarez after academy trials. The Spanish capitals are following his game.

Julian Alvarez has scored 15 goals and registered six assists for River Plate in 16 appearances. The striker had a brief spell in Madrid’ academy as a child.

Claudio Gorgerino, the mayor of Calchin, Alvarez’s hometown, told Infobae, “He spent a month in Madrid. He made such a difference playing here that they came to see him from everywhere.”

“He would overpower his opponents. He’d go left or right and get into the box.”

“You had to wait until you were 16. If the same regulations had been in place as when Messi arrived at Barcelona, Julian would have been a Real Madrid player,” said Piero Foglia, a scout in Argentina.

Meanwhile, Kylian Mbappe is Real Madrid’s main target but they are keeping an eye out for some young talents as well.
