Real Madrid is considering a surprise move to bring former prodigy Martin Odegaard back to the Estadio Bernabeu, according to speculative reports in Spain.

Odegaard to Real Madrid: Los Blancos Eye Reunion with Former Prodigy

The Norwegian playmaker originally joined Los Blancos as a 16-year-old in January 2015, carrying the weight of being the next big thing at the Spanish giants.

However, Odegaard failed to cement a place in the senior squad. After a successful loan spell at Arsenal, he made the move to north London permanent in 2021, where his career has since skyrocketed.

Under the guidance of Mikel Arteta, Odegaard has flourished into one of the world’s premier attacking midfielders. He dictates play with creativity and precision, wearing the captain’s armband for the Gunners.

Despite his success in England, Spanish outlet Defensa Central reports that Real Madrid keeps a close eye on the 27-year-old.

According to Defensa Central suggests Madrid is monitoring the situation in case Arsenal faces pressure to sell.

However, this season has seen Odegaard struggle with injury problems, which has slightly reduced his influence on the pitch.

Despite the rumors swirling around a potential exit, sources close to the situation insist a sale is not on the cards.

Graeme Bailey also confirms that Odegaard intends to sign a new contract with the club. Arteta is not actively looking to offload his captain, viewing him as integral to the project.

While the Odegaard links raise eyebrows, Madrid is also actively planning for the future. Reports indicate the club is preparing a move for KRC Genk’s teenage sensation, Konstantinos Karetsas.

Los Blancos have reportedly put forward an offer close to €50 million for the Greece international attacker.

Karetsas, who can operate as an attacking midfielder or on the right wing, has enjoyed a breakout season. He has contributed three goals and 16 assists in 40 appearances across all competitions.

Meanwhile, Real Madrid continues to harbor dreams of landing Manchester City’s Rodri, though the Spanish midfielder remains focused on his current club for now.
