Nico Paz is one of the players Tottenham is pursuing in its frantic attempt to get a new attacker after losing out on Eberechi Eze, it was announced earlier this week. Spurs are keen to add at least one new attacker before the transfer market closes, which is in just one week.
Paz has surfaced as a possible target, which is intriguing from Real Madrid’s point of view. Despite Paz’s departure from Real Madrid, the team still has a repurchase clause worth less than €10 million that is good for this year and the next two.
However, it looks like Spurs have submitted a €50 million offer for Nico Paz this summer, which is a significant step. Despite the fact that the club and the young Argentine have not yet reached an agreement, Gianluca Di Marzio claims that the Lilywhites are serious about signing him. This follows Spurs’ previous attempt, which Como categorically turned down.
Real Madrid would receive 50% of the transfer fee
Real Madrid included a 50% sell-on provision in the agreement that saw Paz move to Como, which means that if the Argentina international signs with Spurs this summer, they will be eligible to receive half of the transfer cost. But this would be a serious setback since it would mean they would no longer have control over his destiny.
Any money from Paz’s sale would be appreciated by Real Madrid, but it would be more worthwhile to bring him back to the Bernabeu in 2026 or 2027. However, Paz’s countryman Franco Mastantuono completed his high-profile transfer from River Plate over the summer, adding to Xabi Alonso’s already ample offensive midfield options.
Although it is unclear if Real Madrid is in favor of permanently selling a star prodigy like Paz, the club may choose to transfer him to Spurs for a quick profit.
One player who has demonstrated that he is capable of giving his best performance is Nico Paz. Therefore, the player can be a viable alternative for Xabi Alonso in the upcoming season if he can maintain his success in Serie A.
