Liverpool captain Virgil van Dijk could be tempted by summer exit to Real Madrid

Real Madrid eye Liverpool midfielder Alexis Mac Allister

Real Madrid have set their sights on Liverpool’s dynamic midfielder Alexis Mac Allister, with rumors suggesting they may activate a hidden release clause worth €70m to secure his transfer.

The 25-year-old Argentine, who joined Liverpool from Brighton & Hove Albion last summer, has made a significant impact at Anfield, contributing six goals and seven assists in 45 appearances this season.

Mac Allister’s impressive form in the Premier League, where he has netted four times and provided five assists in 32 matches, has not gone unnoticed.

His contributions in the Europa League, FA Cup, and EFL Cup, with two goals and two assists in 13 outings, further highlight his versatility and importance to Jurgen Klopp’s side.

Despite being under contract with Liverpool until June 2028, whispers of a relatively unknown release clause have surfaced, putting the Merseyside club in a precarious position.

Renowned journalists Marcelo Benedetto and Juan Carlos Pasman revealed this clause, which Real Madrid are reportedly considering triggering, possibly as soon as the next summer transfer window.

Real Madrid are planning for the future, as their legendary midfield duo, Toni Kroos and Luka Modric, are expected to extend their stay at the Bernabeu only until the summer of 2025.

With the pair likely to depart thereafter, Real Madrid aim to reinforce their midfield with young talent like Mac Allister, alongside their existing stars Eduardo Camavinga, Federico Valverde, Aurelien Tchouameni, and Jude Bellingham.

As Real Madrid prepare for a period of transition, Mac Allister’s potential arrival could mark the beginning of a new era for the Spanish giants.

While this summer’s transfer activity may be quiet, the anticipation of Kylian Mbappe joining on a free transfer adds to the excitement building around the Bernabeu.
