Real Madrid’s victory over Barcelona at the King Fahd Stadium in Riyadh secured their place in next Sunday’s Spanish Super Cup final, as well as the team’s 100th Clásico victory.
The two teams have met in 248 official Clásico matches, with 52 draws and 100 victories, in which Madrid have scored 415 goals.
Real Madrid has won the Clásico in four different competitions: 76 times in LaLiga, 12 times in the Copa del Rey, 3 times in the European Cup, and nine times in the Spanish Super Cup.
Real Madrid have managed to win their last five games against Barcelona (4 in LaLiga and 1 in the Spanish Super Cup).
Carlo Ancelotti spoke in the press room at the King Fahd Stadium in Riyadh, giving his thoughts on the Clásico victory-
“We were aware that it was going to be a very close encounter, and it turned out that way. We played well, particularly in the first half. In the second half we played very well on the counter-attack and in the end tiredness kicked in.
It was an entertaining match and I think we put on a good show and gave a good account for Spanish football. Anyone could have won as two different styles of football came up against each other. ”
