Globo Esporte reports that David Luiz is in talks with various European clubs including Real Madrid.

Real Madrid is now facing a battle with two Premier League clubs in the race of signing David Luiz. The 34-year-old player spent most of his summer without a club before signing with Flamengo. He had no offers and he decided to return to Brazil, his home. Globo Esporte reports that David Luiz is in talks with various European clubs including Real Madrid.

As per the report of the Brazilian outlet, Real Madrid’s manager Carlo Ancelotti worked with Luiz at Chelsea in 2011. Madrid manager wants him to join Spanish club. The lack of non-European players was the main obstacle, but the Spanish Giants are confident to take the defender in La Liga.

Real Madrid may face trouble from Premier League clubs such as Everton and West Ham United. Both clubs are interested to take a 34-year-old defender. If Luiz decides to remain in England, then the story might be in favour of Premier League clubs.

The veteran defender is likely to stay with Flamengo and help them to win second Copa Libertadores in three years and a third consecutive Brasileirão.
