Real Madrid picked up a massive win to move one step closer to claiming La Liga 2021/22

Real Madrid came back from a goal down to beat Sevilla 3-2 on Sunday night in La Liga.

Carlo Ancelotti’s team displayed customary tenacity to claw their way back into the game in the second half, and they finish the weekend with a 15-point advantage at the top of the table.

However, it was to be a true game of two halves in Andalucia, with Ivan Rakitic and Erik Lamela putting the home side ahead 2-0 at the half.

However, Real Madrid have established a habit of late comebacks in recent weeks, and substitute Rodrygo Goes came off the bench again to ignite a comeback with a nice finish.

Ancelotti’s men fought for a late equaliser, with Vinicius Jr’s shot ruled out for handball in the build-up by VAR, before the unexpected figure of Nacho Fernandez scored.

That was not the end of the drama for Real Madrid, as Karim Benzema scored his 39th goal of the season in the final seconds to seal the victory.

Madrid’s win moves them 15 points ahead of Sevilla in joint-second. Los Blancos are now also 15 points clear of Barcelona, who play Cádiz on Monday.
