A Spanish report claims that with Carlo Ancelotti’s future in doubt, Real Madrid is contemplating a surprise appointment of former Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp.

Many people believe that Klopp is one of the greatest managers in the contemporary game because of his tremendous success with Borussia Dortmund and Liverpool over the past 20 years. In January, the 2019 Champions League-winning manager took a position as Red Bull’s ‘Head of Global Soccer’ after leaving the Anfield hot seat last summer.

According to SPORT, Ancelotti’s trophy cabinet surpasses Klopp’s, despite Klopp losing to the Italian team, Real Madrid, in the 2022 Champions League final. However, his future in the Spanish capital is in doubt.

According to the source, Madrid would lose Ancelotti if he doesn’t win La Liga or the Champions League, ignoring the forthcoming Copa del Rey final against Barcelona. It is said that Madrid is seriously considering hiring Klopp in the event that Ancelotti is fired.

Jurgen Klopp eyes Real Madrid job amid Red Bull frustration

Due to growing difficulties behind the scenes at Red Bull, where he presently serves as global football director, Jurgen Klopp is considering a position at Real Madrid. The former Liverpool manager has reportedly told close friends that he would think about leaving his position at Red Bull for either Real Madrid or the Brazilian national team.

According to insiders, Klopp is not content with the Austrian group, despite neither party having made a formal approach. In 2024, Klopp left Liverpool, after nine years of success at Anfield, and joined Red Bull.

The German apparently feels restless and misses the daily engagement of top-level football management, even if he makes between €12 and €14 million a year in his current role. Carlo Ancelotti, the manager of Real Madrid at the moment, is under increasing pressure. He has a contract that expires in June 2026, but he might be fired before this summer’s expanded Club World Cup.

Because of their poor big-game performances, there has been conjecture that Ancelotti may leave the team. Only a project with a reputation and a clear goal will reportedly entice Klopp to return to club football. Madrid satisfies both criteria. The Santiago Bernabeu boardroom is starting to hear Klopp’s name, even though no transfers are in the works. He’s not dismissing the curiosity either.
