Real Madrid legend announces FIFA World Cup will be his last

Luka Modric retires from the Croatian National Team with an accomplishment that nobody would have dreamt of.

Real Madrid legend Luka Modric is still ageing like fine wine. The veteran just cannot get older it seems and he continues to drop masterclasses game after game against even the toughest of oppositions.

The Croatia international will captain his National Team in the FIFA World Cup which will be starting next month in Qatar. His national side made into the final of FIFA World Cup 2018.

Earlier today, the former Ballon d’Or winner made a big statement about his international future via an official FIFA World Cup documentary.

“I’m aware that I’m of a certain age, this World Cup is my last competition with the Croatia national team.”

It was expcted considering Luka Modric’s age. After all, the midfielder is not only a legend in his country but also in the world of football.

He retires from the Croatian National Team with an accomplishment that nobody would have dreamt of – leading his men to the final of the World Cup and within touching distance of the coveted silverware.

The 37-year-old has announced his international future, but he has made no official statement about his future at Real Madrid.

Real Madrid has played 10 La Liga games for Real Madrid, scoring two goals and providing two assists. He e also scored a goal in the team’s 3-0 win over Celtic in the UEFA Champions League.
