Roberto Carlos is of the belief that Sergio Ramos could opt to remain at Real Madrid.
A story over the defender’s contract has hovered over Real’s heads all of 2020/21.
The Galacticos could not come to an agreement with Ramos and now, his deal is set to expire. So far, the veteran has not agreed terms with any other club while he sees out the 2020 Euros with Spain.
“He is currently recovering from an injury,” Roberto Carlos said during an interview with Onze Mondial. “I am very sure that there will be a conversation between Sergio and the president to reach an agreement.
“Sergio is the face of the club, a great player and we’ll see what happens.”
Even Iker Casillas hopes to see Ramos dawn the captain’s armband for Real next season He said, “Let’s hope that for the good of football [that] the two [Real Madrid and Ramos] can come to an agreement to reach a point of harmony, so that everyone can be happy.
When asked which side would lose out most if an agreement was not reached, Casillas admitted that he would be amongst the losers.
“I lose. I like football, I like Sergio Ramos being at Real Madrid and I would like him to remain there,” he added. “It’s a decision between the club and him.”
