Currently a key figure for the Juvenil B squad, Lemaitre is a leading member of the highly-regarded 2009 generation, a group that includes other notable talents like Enzo Alves and Bryan Bugarin.
Since joining the club at Infantil B level in 2021, his development has been rapid. Lemaitre already boasts experience on significant youth stages, playing a prominent role in the Youth Club World Cup last summer.
His progress has seen him regularly train with the Juvenil A side and even participate in sessions with Castilla. He made his debut as a starter in the UEFA Youth League this season, showcasing his talent against Manchester City.
His outstanding potential had attracted attention from several clubs, adding urgency to Real Madrid’s desire to renew his deal.
The international scene also reflected his growing reputation. Despite earning eight caps for Spanish youth teams, Lemaitre recently committed his international future to France, a choice the French Football Federation formally announced last September.
By securing his signature until 2028, Real Madrid have successfully fended off external interest and locked down a player they believe can be a cornerstone of their defense for years to come.
This contract represents a major vote of confidence in Lemaitre’s ability to continue his impressive trajectory toward the first team.
