Real Madrid open the door for Eden Hazard exit

Eden Hazard’s days at Real Madrid could be numbered, according to a report in Marca.

Madrid manager Carlo Ancelotti has not been  playing him from the start, and the excellent form of Vinicius on the left flank is keeping the Belgian out of the lineup. He did not appear in Madrid’s two Super Cup matches against Barcelona and Athletic Club.

According to Marca, Belgian sources have hinted at a possible departure this month. Real Madrid would support a transfer, although they are aware that his huge salary would make finding a team difficult.

The former Chelsea star was conspicuously absent from the celebrations following the Super Cup victory against Athletic in Saudi Arabia on Sunday. He is presently battling Vinicius, Marco Asensio, and Rodrygo for a spot in the Real Madrid squad.

He appeared against Cádiz, Athletic, Alcoyano, and Getafe between the end of 2021 and the beginning of 2022, but had little influence.

“It is clear that we have to take into account the thinking of each player in general. Never in my coaching career have I forced a player who wants to leave to stay. If you want to leave, you have to leave.” said the Madrid boss.

Ancelotti already has his first trophy of the season and knows his best eleven. Hazard isn’t knocking on the door either. He looks low on confidence and the 2021/22 campaign could be his last at the Santiago Bernabéu.
