The focus will shift to who Real Madrid will want to replace Dani Carvajal with at right back now that he is expected to leave the club

Since his return to Real Madrid in 2013, a year after departing for Bayer Leverkusen of the Bundesliga, Carvajal has been a fixture in the team. He has been a sterling representative of the club and has shared in a great deal of success while residing in Madrid.

However, assuming a replacement can be found, his status as the top pick will likely end after the upcoming season. Denzel Dumfries of Inter Milan and Benjamin Pavard of Bayern Munich have both been mentioned in transfer rumours.

Achraf Hakimi is one name that has surfaced and has a background at the club. The Moroccan international played for Real Madrid for 14 years before making a permanent move to Inter. He came up through the club’s junior ranks.

Hakimi is now playing for Paris Saint-Germain, but Todofichajes claims that Real Madrid is preparing a summer swoop for the player, who the French powerhouses value at €70 million. Despite the cost, Carlo Ancelotti’s team would benefit from having one of the top right backs in the world.

It is unclear if Los Blancos will have the money to sign Hakimi given that they are anticipated to spend more than €100 million on Jude Bellingham this summer.
