Real Madrid Running On Anger

Real Madrid are currently fueled by anger, according to Marca.

The Spanish news outlet reported that players were heard stating their frustration after the 3-1 win against Atalanta.

The Galacticos sealed their place in the Champions League quarter-finals after going past Atalanta on Tuesday. Marca reporters heard the statement – “They despise us, but we’re still alive.”

Real Madrid are undoubtedly having a poor season with Atletico Madrid still above them in the La Liga, by a healthy margin. Zinedine Zidane led the Galacticos to three consecutive Champions League trophy but fans can admit that the challenge is of a different pedigree this season.

They are the only Spanish team in the Champions League final eight. They will net €10.5 million if they reach the semi-finals. They have already made €34.75 million from the competition this term.

The challenge only gets tougher from here on out. Otherwise, Liverpool, Chelsea, Manchester City, Bayern Munich, PSG, Dortmund and FC Porto have made it through. Zidane’s job is on the line based on the level of success he brings in this season.

Real have already exited domestic cup competitions but the hierarchy will surely demand some sort of silverware.
