Real Madrid to make surprise move for Galatasaray striker Mauro Icardi in January

According to a report from Fichajes, Real Madrid has chosen to pursue Stuttgart midfielder Angelo Stiller instead of Enzo Fernandez and Martin Zubimendi.

The club wants to bolster their midfield because Luka Modric’s future is uncertain and Toni Kroos is retiring, and Stiller has proven to be the most realistic choice on the market.

Considering his €36.5 million release clause, he is a cheaper option than the other targets that have been considered. Stiller, a graduate of Bayern Munich’s development program, has made a name for himself at Stuttgart and contributed significantly to the team’s successful Bundesliga campaign, which saw them place second.

Among the main factors that might make Stiller’s transfer to Madrid easier is his affiliation with Sports 360, an organization in which Toni Kroos also has a significant influence. Given Kroos’ close relationship with the agency, his presence might facilitate talks and be crucial in persuading Stiller to sign with the Spanish powerhouses.

Real Madrid interested in Stuttgart star midfielder

However, the Daily Briefing claims that Angelo Stiller, a midfielder for Stuttgart, is a target for Real Madrid. While former Germany manager Hansi Flick was a fan of the 23-year-old when he first came to Barcelona’s attention last summer, the other titan of the Clasico tandem is now interested in him.

Stiller’s contract includes a €36.5 million release clause, which, according to Christian Falk, would make him more than affordable by Real Madrid’s standards. Stiller, who was once a member of the Bayern Munich academy, has already earned three caps for the German national squad.

There are other considerations behind Madrid’s decision to part ways with Zubimendi and Enzo. The team is trying to find a midfield player that can fit in with the tactical system and play with the same mindset.

Stiller is a good fit for the Santiago Bernabeu’s long-term midfield project because of his profile, which strikes the ideal mix between technical skill, poise, and versatility. He typically plays a deeper role for Stuttgart, providing a directing presence in the middle of the pitch and serving as a springboard for Stuttgart’s attacks.
