In Serie A, Nico Paz is making an impression with Como. His reputation has significantly increased after he joined the Italian team from Real Madrid in August 2024. The Argentina international appears to be considering a return to Madrid, though. This summer, the Spanish team thought about triggering a buyback clause for him, and they still have further possibilities on
Due to Paz’s outstanding debut season in Italy in 2024–2025, Madrid’s board gave his return this summer considerable consideration. He had played 128 minutes in eight games for the senior team during the previous season, primarily with Real Madrid’s reserve team in the third division of Spanish football. He also scored a crucial goal in the Champions League.
He made rapid progress in Serie A, and in June, Madrid had the option to re-sign him for €8 million (£7 million, $9.3 million). Paz’s homecoming was the subject of so much conjecture in Spanish media that it was almost taken for granted. This was not the case, though, for two reasons: Xabi Alonso’s agreement was still required, and Paz only intended to return if it meant taking on a significant role.
Real Madrid will bring youngster back to the club next summer
Although Alonso appreciates Paz’s attributes, he believes that reinforcements in other areas should take precedence and that the moment is not appropriate for the transfer. Trent Alexander-Arnold, Dean Huijsen, Alvaro Carreras, and Franco Mastantuono were all acquired by Madrid during the window, but any more acquisitions were dependent on someone departing in the summer, which did not occur.
Paz’s objective is to return to Madrid, nevertheless. For this reason, he disregarded attention from Tottenham and Inter, among other suitors, throughout the summer. The agents of Madrid, Como, and Paz kept each other updated on all developments and rejected these possibilities. Rather, they spoke about examining and revising Madrid’s terms for the buyback.
They are still keeping a careful eye on Paz’s development, nevertheless, and have by no means forgotten about him. Next summer, there’s a good possibility they’ll bring him back.
