This summer Real Madrid is still interested in recruiting Franco Mastantuono the midfielder from River Plate. Barcelona and Chelsea have taken notice of the 16-year-old’s skills as he is considered as one of the best young possibilities in South American football.
According to AS, Real Madrid and the player are still informally discussing a possible transfer, but it’s unclear if they will make an official bid to sign him. It is unclear if they will be able to reach a deal with River Plate, but the 16-year-old Argentine midfielder has the potential to become a player for the Spanish clubs in the near future.

Given that Mastantuono has a €45 million release clause, it will be difficult to persuade him to leave River Plate. Furthermore, that sum might increase to €50 million if he departs before the transfer window closes, which is 10 days away. Those close to Mastantuono deny that he ever had a personal pre-agreement with Real Madrid, despite the fact that the Spanish powerhouses have been closely following the player’s development throughout the season. Nevertheless, they do confirm the club’s stated intention.
Chelsea is also monitoring the Argentine talent in a similar manner. It would be intriguing to watch whether the Blues can prevail in the competition for Mastantuono this summer. They have done well in previous years to recruit a lot of quality young players.
