Gerard Pique blasts Real Madrid president Florentino Perez

Barcelona legend Gerard Pique comments on Real Madrid president Florentino Perez.

The Barcelona centre-back played his last game for the club against Almeria last weekend at the Camp Nou.

He was shown a red card against CA Osasuna while he was still on the bench.

He was later seen on Twitch with Ibai Llanos, a popular streamer in Spain where he made some comments about the Super League and Florentino Perez.

“Milan loves football and doesn’t watch an entire game. When Florentino talks to you about the Super League and that people consume differently, I agree with that. But I don’t think the Super League is the solution. It’s a different thing.”

“The presentation of the Super League, it was a big s***show. Because I hold Florentino in the highest regard, he surprised me [in the way that he did it]. He has changed Madrid. He was wrong when he signed the stars at the time and when he came back, his work has been praiseworthy. His presentation at El Chiringuito, him alone… my head exploded. I don’t know what he wanted to achieve. I didn’t understand it.”

Carlo Ancelotti singles out two players for Madrid’s loss at Rayo Vallecano

Carlo Ancelotti singles out two players for Madrid's loss at Rayo Vallecano

Ancelotti talked about Real Madrid’s performance in last La Liga outing.

Carlo Ancelotti singled out two players for their poor performance during Real Madrid’s 3-2 loss at Rayo Vallecano. The Los Blancos had a great season so far and they didn’t lose a single outing in La Liga. They beat Barcelona in El Classico to clinch the top spot.

Real Madrid’s unbeaten start to La Liga’s season came to an end across town at Vallecas, with Ancelotti’s side now two points behind Barcelona in the standings.

Speaking to the media post-match, the Italian was asked particularly about Vinicius Junior’s poor night in front of goal, but he also pointed to fellow Brazilian Rodrygo’s wastefulness.

“As for quality, it has gone down a bit. Vinicius, Rodrygo, who missed a couple of shots that he usually puts in,” Ancelotti admitted.

“[Marco] Asensio has been good, but the level of the others has been lower than usual.”

When asked further about conversations he had on the touchline with Vinicius, Ancelotti added: “I talk to him, but we have missed that we have lost in many duels – Vinicius, Rodrygo, those types of players. Difficult match for him and for everyone.

“[Vinicius] has not had a special impact, similar to the ones he has had earlier in the season.”

Vinicius and Rodrygo were both named in Brazil’s 26-player squad for the World Cup prior to Real Madrid’s defeat to Rayo Vallecano.

Carlo Ancelotti blames missed chances for defeat at Rayo Vallecano

Defeat means Ancelotti’s men now trail Barcelona by two points at the top of the table.

Real Madrid manager Carlo Ancelotti blamed missed chances as they suffered their first La Liga defeat of the season with a 3-2 loss at Rayo Vallecano.

Two first half goals for each side tied the contest at the break in Vallecas but Oscar Trejo’s retaken second half penalty sealed a shock win for Rayo on the night.

Defeat means Los Blancos now trail Barcelona by two points at the top of the table. They will now face Cadiz at home in midweek before the World Cup break.

But, despite the frustration, Ancelotti was in pragmatic mood at full time, as he prepares to pause the season this month.

“We knew they’d play like this, they were more forceful than us in the duels. It’s a bad night, that’s it”, as per reports from Marca.

“Vini has missed two or three attempts that he normally scores. Asensio did well, but it hasn’t been a good game for us.

“We lack freshness, which is normal after so many games. We evaluate this first part of the season and we’ve done well.

“We’re in the Champions League last 16 and doing well in La Liga.”

After facing Cadiz, the majority of Ancelotti’s squad will head off to join up with their national teams in Qatar, before the World Cup kick off on December 20.

La Liga is scheduled to resume on December 31 with Real Madrid facing a trip to Real Valladolid.

Carlo Ancelotti blasts his team’s attitude after Rayo Vallecano loss.

The Los Blancos suffered their first La Liga defeat this season and are now two points behind Barcelona in the league table.

This defeat brought an end to Real’s 12-game unbeaten streak in La Liga and drop their position in the standings.

A post shared by Real Madrid C.F. (@realmadrid)

“We weren’t convincing in the individual duels,” Ancelotti said in his post-match news conference. “Sometimes, when you can’t match the attitude, quality alone can’t win you the game. We lost a lot of balls and we suffered with their pressing. It was a bad night.”

They will host Cadiz on Thursday night before La Liga takes a seven-week break for the World Cup.

“In terms of quality we dropped off a bit,” Ancelotti said. “Rodrygo [Goes] and Vinicius [Junior] missed some chances that they’d usually score. It wasn’t a good game. [Marco] Asensio did well, but the others weren’t as good as usual.”

Real Madrid to secure contract extension for Marco Asensio before World Cup

Asensio is set to join Spain’s squad for the 2022 World Cup next week.

Real Madrid wants to secure a contract extension for Marco Asensio before he leaves for the World Cup in Qatar.

Los Blancos are prioritising a new contract for the Spaniard after the club performed a U-turn on the player last month.

Asensio’s future in Madrid looked to be uncertain, as he approached the final months of his current deal, but boss Carlo Ancelotti has brought him back into the fold this season.

The veteran Italian has played a key role in convincing the club to keep Asensio with a two-and-a-half-year deal on the table for the 26-year-old.

Asensio is set to join up with Luis Enrique’s La Roja squad for the 2022 World Cup next week, and as per reports from Mundo Deportivo, a final offer will be made this month.

Since joining from Mallorca in 2016, Asensio has made 249 appearances for Real Madrid across all competitions, with three La Liga and Champions League titles.

Toni Kroos just wants to focus on his club career.

The Real Madrid midfielder was told to reconsider international retirement ahead of World Cup in Qatar.

Just after Euro 2020, the veteran midfielder decided to hang his boots for his national side Germany.

The 32-year-old midfielder is still at the top of his game but won’t return to the German national team as speculated.

“I won’t be at the World Cup, but I’m sure that when I watch the matches, I’ll want to play. But I’ve already decided to leave the national team after the European Championship,” Kroos told Vamos por Movistar Plus.

“The reasons for my retirement were to spend more time with my family, secondly because now there are players who deserve to play more and I didn’t want to reach the time when they would come and tell me it was better for me to retire. So I wanted to decide.”

Kylian Mbappe was close to joining Real Madrid in the summer.

Former PSG striker Zlatan Ibrahimovic has ripped apart Mbappe for refusing to join Real Madrid in the summer.

Mbappe almost joined Real Madrid in the summer but surprisingly decided to extend his contract with PSG in the final hours.

Ibrahimovic struggles to understand why Mbappe refused to move to Santiago Bernabeu over PSG.

“Mbappe, as a person I do not know him very well. As a player, he is fantastic,” Ibrahimovic told Canal Plus. “But when you lose discipline you lose your identity.

“There is a reason why Zidane is Zidane. Mbappe wants to imitate him? That he starts to want to progress. Not to be satisfied.

“He made the right choice for Paris not for himself. Because he put himself in a situation where he is more important than the club. And the club gave him the keys for that.

“But you are never bigger than a club. But when a child becomes strong, he can easily earn money.”
