“This is a very good team and very good squad and I feel proud to be the coach,” Ancelotti told reporters. “We will now keep competing in the other competitions.

“We have our next match on Thursday [in the Copa del Rey] and it’s an important one. These players have already won so much, but they’re still so committed. When you win a lot, you might think you’re the best and not work as hard, but they keep the same level.”

Real Madrid coach Carlo Ancelotti hailed his player after winning the Supercopa de Espana final against Athletic Bilbao.

Asked if winning so much can get tiring, Ancelotti pointed out that he hadn’t lifted a trophy since the 2017 DFL-Supercup.

“The last trophy I won was a Super Cup with Bayern Munich, so I hadn’t won anything for a while.

“I am happy and enjoy seeing my players happy.”

Real Madrid winger Marco Asensio will miss tomorrow’s Spanish Supercopa final against Athletic Club through injury.

Real Madrid forward Marco Asensio will be unavailable for Sunday’s Spanish Supercup Final against Athletic Bilbao. Asensio was substituted after 68 minutes against La Blaugrana due to this muscular injury. and was unable to exercise with the team today. When the team arrives in Madrid, he will undergo tests to determine the extent of his injury, but he should be out for at least the next two weeks.

Despite winning a lengthy semi-final against Barcelona last week, Ancelotti is now reckoning the cost of vital injuries.

The defensive lynchpin David Alaba has already been ruled out due to a hamstring injury, while Dani Carvajal has been ruled out due to a positive Covid-19 test.

Rodrygo will now be the starting right winger for Real Madrid, at least until Asensio returns. Asensio’s loss will be felt by the club in the coming weeks, as he had rediscovered some form in recent matches, displaying more aggressiveness and verticality both on and off the ball.

Asensio should be ready for the opening leg of the Champions League Round of 16 match, which is less than a month away. He should also have enough time before the game to work on his form and conditioning.

Karim Benzema has been named France’s best player of 2021.

After a remarkable year in which he scored 47 goals, ‘France Football’ has picked the Real Madrid striker for the honour. He scored 38 goals for the Whites (30 in LaLiga, seven in the Champions League and one in the Spanish Super Cup). Since joining the club, this is the Frenchman’s finest haul in a calendar year. This is Benzema’s fourth time winning this accolade, having previously won it in 2011, 2012, and 2014.

This season, Karim Benzema has outperformed every other French footballer. He was voted the greatest French player playing overseas by France’s National Union of Professional Footballers, beating out Hugo Lloris, N’Golo Kante, Ousmane Dembele, Real Madrid colleague Ferland Mendy, and everyone else (UNFP).

The No.9 is pleased to have been recognised for his season, which might yet conclude with Real Madrid winning LaLiga Santander, and he has scored 29 goals this season.

“I’m very honoured to have received this trophy for being the best French footballer abroad,” Benzema said on social media. “Thank you to all of the players who voted for me.

He scored nine more goals for France, and his strike in the final of the Nations League, which his side won, deserves special notice. At the start of 2022, the Madrid striker has already scored three goals in three games. His most recent goal came in the Spanish Super Cup semi-final against Barcelona, for which he was awarded MVP.

Real Madrid’s victory over Barcelona at the King Fahd Stadium in Riyadh secured their place in next Sunday’s Spanish Super Cup final, as well as the team’s 100th Clásico victory.

The two teams have met in 248 official Clásico matches, with 52 draws and 100 victories, in which Madrid have scored 415 goals.

Real Madrid has won the Clásico in four different competitions: 76 times in LaLiga, 12 times in the Copa del Rey, 3 times in the European Cup, and nine times in the Spanish Super Cup.

Real Madrid have managed to win their last five games against Barcelona (4 in LaLiga and 1 in the Spanish Super Cup).

Carlo Ancelotti spoke in the press room at the King Fahd Stadium in Riyadh, giving his thoughts on the Clásico victory-

“We were aware that it was going to be a very close encounter, and it turned out that way. We played well, particularly in the first half. In the second half we played very well on the counter-attack and in the end tiredness kicked in.

It was an entertaining match and I think we put on a good show and gave a good account for Spanish football. Anyone could have won as two different styles of football came up against each other. ”

“We (Barcelona) have faced them in all situations. It will not be easy to impose our game because they are the most in-form team in Spain,” -Xavi on Madrid’s form ahead of El-Clasico.

The two teams are coming into the first “El Clasico” of 2022 from opposite ends of the spectrum. For the most of the current season, Real Madrid have led the La Liga table, while Barcelona have struggled to make the European spots. Barcelona has suffered setback after setback this season, including a 2-1 defeat in the most recent El Clasico in La Liga last October. Furthermore, Barcelona has so far not beaten Real Madrid since 2019.

“I see a Barcelona [side] under construction and a [Real] Madrid [side] in a very good shape, but that doesn’t mean anything,” he said at his press conference.

After reporting negative COVID-19 test results, new signings Ferran Torres and Pedri are set to join the rest of their Barcelona teammates, while Ansu Fati has recovered from injury and should be available to Xavi Hernandez for the clash at the King Fahd International Stadium.

Carlo Ancelotti’s Real Madrid can count on everyone but two of his players, as Gareth Bale and Mariano Diaz will miss the Clasico between the two LaLiga Santander titans.

The Madridistas are competing in the Super Cup for the third year in a row, a competition that the club has won 11 times in its history.

“Bale doesn’t feel right, but he isn’t injured,” Ancelotti told reporters. “He is committed because he has six months left on his contract. But, he doesn’t feel good or comfortable. If he is scared about suffering a problem then we have to evaluate this.

“Not releasing injury updates is a general thing, something to respect each individual’s privacy. We hope to have him back for the Valencia game this weekend, or for the Supercopa de Espana in Saudi Arabia.”
