Real Madrid sold some of its youthful talent in La Fabrica during the summer, raising a substantial sum of money. The most well-known player to depart was Nico Paz, who signed with Serie A rookies Como, coached by former Barcelona and Spain midfielder Cesc Fabregas. Paz has had a fantastic start to life in Italy, and on Saturday, he scored Como’s first goal in their 1-1 draw with Parma.
Marca claims that Real Madrid is keeping a close eye on Paz’s progress in Italy and has a buy-back clause in place for him. His return to the Santiago Bernabeu is a given if his progress keeps up at this current pace, which is what they will expect.
Nico Paz shines again for Como, he ‘dreams’ of returning to Real Madrid
Paz envisions himself playing at the Santiago Bernabeu and eventually going back to Real Madrid, according to Relevo. Through the summer of 2027, Real Madrid may exercise their buyback option on Paz. He can be bought back for €9 million in 2025. In 2026 and 2027, respectively, the cost will increase to €10 million and €11 million. A few Real Madrid supporters have urged the team to recruit Florian Wirtz for at least €100 million rather than bring Paz back.
Since Paz would be a cheap alternative for Real Madrid, Luka Modric’s anticipated departure next summer may be advantageous. The situation will only become more apparent as next summer draws near, so it is still far too early to determine whether a return is feasible.
