Real Madrid’s rising star Nico Paz, who made his first-team debut under Carlo Ancelotti last season, reportedly wants to leave the club this summer.

According to SPORT, anonymous sources revealed that the 19-year-old is seeking new opportunities due to limited playing time at the Bernabeu.

Paz joined Madrid’s renowned La Fabrica academy in 2016 and made his senior debut in the Champions League last November, coming on as a substitute against Braga. He soon made another appearance in a dominant 5-1 victory over Valencia, and later that month, he scored his first goal in a crucial 4-2 win against Napoli.

Despite his impressive performances, Paz finds himself overshadowed by a star-studded squad, including new arrivals Kylian Mbappe and Endrick. Competing for a spot with established talents like Jude Bellingham, Brahim Diaz, Arda Guler, and Fede Valverde, his path to regular first-team football seems blocked.

Ancelotti’s preference for a more defensive midfielder like Mario Martin further limits Paz’s opportunities. Frustrated with playing for the reserve team, Paz believes it’s time to move on and seek a higher-level team to continue his professional development.

Paz, contracted with Madrid until 2027 and valued at $10.8 million (€10 million), has attracted interest from several clubs. Leganes has already inquired about him, while Benfica and Borussia Dortmund, known for nurturing young talent, are also keen on securing his services.

Having changed agents recently, Paz might become the latest gem from La Fabrica to leave Madrid. A buyback clause could be a possibility in any potential transfer deal, ensuring Los Blancos keep an eye on his future progress.
